A City of Events: The Summer Festival and The Saint Blaise Day

16/12/2020

The annual Dubrovnik Summer Festival is a 45-day-long cultural event with live theater plays, concerts, and performances. The medieval city offers a unique stage for all those events hosting world class artists. It has been awarded a Gold International Trophy for Quality (2007) by the Editorial Office in collaboration with the Trade Leaders Club.

As ancient traditions are still very present today, the 3rd of February is the day when Dubrovnik celebrates its patron saint. Mass, parades, and festivities that last for several days. From the 10th century on, Saint Blaise has been protecting the city and its liberty. The central church in the heart of the city is named after him and statues of him are seen all around the city. Many miracles and legends testify his devotion to the city.
