Drive on the scenic seaside road offering beautiful views on the Elafiti archipelago to Veliki Ston, set at the beginning of the Pelješac peninsula. Ston is a charming 14th century stone town, harbouring the still active saltworks built at the time of the Dubrovnik Republic. However, the most remarkable monument are the defensive walls, among the longest in Europe, a genuine human exploit!

After a short walk in the town, you will continue to the neighbouring town of Mali Ston, where you will embark on a Dalmatian wooden boat “trabakula”. You will first sail to the mussel and oyster fields to learn about the farming process and for oyster tasting. You will then sail to a small, deserted island for a swim while a cook prepares in front of you the mussels “buzara” with olive oil, garlic and parsley. A glass of white wine from the famous Pelješac vineyards will enhance this typical dish. Your captain will then take you to the fish farming basins (bream and sea bass) and prepare the catch on the boat’s barbecue. Enjoy lunch during the return to the harbour of Mali Ston, where your vehicle will wait for you to drive you back. An authentic experience to discover real Croatia.
